Organisers of the Ghana Music Awards USA (GMA-USA) have recognised a number of distinguished individuals as Life Patrons of the awards scheme for their exceptional contribution to the promotion and growth of Ghanaian music in the diaspora.
According to the organisers, the Life Patron recognition is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated long-standing commitment to advancing Ghanaian music, particularly in the United States and on the global stage.
Chief Operating Officer of the scheme, Emmanuel Kusi Mensah (Capito), explained that the recognition celebrates individuals who have consistently supported the vision of the awards and the broader mission of promoting Ghanaian music beyond the country’s borders.
He noted that Life Patrons of GMA-USA are more than supporters. Rather, they are cultural ambassadors who have invested their time, resources, expertise and networks to help promote Ghanaian talent internationally.
Their contributions, he said, have helped position the Ghana Music Awards USA as one of the leading platforms in the diaspora dedicated to celebrating and projecting Ghanaian music.
Chief Executive Officer of GMA-USA, Dennis Boafo (Don D), also expressed appreciation to the newly recognised Life Patrons for their commitment and dedication.
“Our Life Patrons are the backbone of this awards scheme. Their passion for Ghanaian music and culture is truly inspiring, and their contributions continue to ensure the growth and relevance of our music internationally,” he said.
According to the organisers, the Life Patrons will be celebrated throughout the year, with special features and recognitions highlighting their impact on the growth of Ghanaian music in the diaspora.
They also encouraged the music community and the general public to celebrate these individuals whose efforts continue to inspire and create opportunities for Ghanaian artistes beyond the country’s shores.
