The excitement surrounding this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) is steadily building as anticipation grows for the unveiling of nominees for the scheme’s 27th edition on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Music enthusiasts, artistes, and industry stakeholders across Ghana and beyond are eager to see which musicians and music professionals will secure nominations for notable contributions to the country’s music scene over the past year.

Organisers of the awards, Charterhouse Ghana, say this year’s nominations will recognise songs, albums and productions released between January 1 and December 31, 2025.

According to the organisers, the nominees’ announcement follows an extensive submission and vetting process involving entries from artistes, managers, record labels and producers across the music industry.

The nominations are expected to spotlight the artistes, songs and creative works that defined Ghana’s music landscape in 2025, while celebrating the innovation and cultural impact of the country’s vibrant music industry.

Fans will be able to follow the announcement live across multiple digital platforms. The reveal will be streamed on the Ghana Music Awards Facebook page and on Charterhouse Live on YouTube.

To heighten anticipation ahead of the main announcement show, organisers have scheduled a series of hourly reveals throughout the day.

From 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., nominees in various categories will be announced hourly, building momentum toward the main Nominees Announcement Show at 8:00 p.m., where the most keenly contested categories will be unveiled.

Among the most anticipated are the awards scheme’s “Big Four” categories—Artiste of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year and New Artiste of the Year—which traditionally generate the biggest buzz among fans and industry watchers.

Other categories expected to spark significant interest include Best Hip Hop/Hiplife Song, Best Gospel Song, Best Afrobeat Song, Best Reggae/Dancehall Song, Best Male Vocal Performance among others.

Since its inception, the awards have played a vital role in promoting Ghanaian music both locally and internationally, while honouring the artistes and professionals who shape the industry.

King Promise won Artiste of the Year last year.
