A non-governmental organisation (NGO), EOA Heart for Kids Foundation, has supported pupils of the Panpanso Krokese M/A Basic School in the Eastern Region with educational materials.
The educational materials, mainly stationery, school uniforms and school bags, are meant to encourage the pupils to continue to go to school, and for those who dropped out to return.
At a short ceremony in the school, which was attended by some community leaders, the Founder of the NGO, Eugene Ofei Ansah, said the organisation was moved by the plight of some of the pupils, who usually attended school without the requisite materials.
“From our own checks, we got to know that many of the pupils either go to school without learning materials or dropped out of the school because they do not have uniforms.
“Since we exist to support communities and the educational system, we had to put some resources together to put smiles on the faces of these children.
“This generous gesture aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by students and their families, ensuring that every child has the necessary materials to excel academically,” he said.
Additionally, he said a significant number of school bags were provided to help the pupils carry their books and learning materials effectively.
Appreciation
Receiving the donation on behalf of the school, the Headmistress, Lydia Akortia, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the generous support.
She emphasised that such contributions were vital, as they would encourage the pupils to attend school regularly, as well as take pride in their appearance in school.
