The police have announced plans to arraign one suspect before the court today after he allegedly broke into the room of a woman at Spintex in Accra and stole valuables.
The victim reportedly returned home from work around 4:00 pm on March 14 to find her room looted.
Among the stolen items were cash totalling GHS 1,000 and USD 22,350.
Acting on intelligence, the police arrested the suspect, Daniel Odai Afotey, at Labone Beach on March 11, 2026.
“A search of his room led to the recovery of the stolen items, along with several other suspected stolen items, including gold watches, jewellery, mobile phones, and a television set.”
During interrogation, the suspect admitted to the offence and mentioned an accomplice identified only as “Ewonam”, who is currently at large.
The police have since launched a manhunt for the said suspect as they trace the owners of the remaining recovered items.
It also directed anyone who may have lost property under similar circumstances within Spintex, Teshie, Nungua, and surrounding areas to contact the CID Headquarters to assist with identification.
