The Akosombo Divisional Police Command has arrested three suspects for allegedly possessing 105 bundles of forged US dollar notes concealed in a student’s trunk at Larsi in Odumase-Krobo in the Eastern Region.

According to a police statement, the arrest was made on March 11, 2026, following an intelligence-led operation carried out by the Odumase-Krobo District Police.

The suspects have been identified as Ebenezer Narth-Tsu, 20; George Attor, 48; and Bishop Robert Olertey, 54.

Police said Bishop Robert Olertey allegedly offered a bribe of GH¢20,000 to the arresting officers, who rejected the offer and proceeded with the arrest.

The three suspects were subsequently handed over to the Akosombo Divisional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigations.

On Friday, March 13, 2026, Ebenezer Narth-Tsu was arraigned before the Odumase-Krobo Circuit Court on a motion for notice of detention and was granted bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties.

He has been directed to report to the police every Monday for two weeks to assist with investigations.

The other two suspects have been granted police enquiry bail as investigations continue.

The Eastern Regional Police Command has urged the public to remain vigilant against counterfeit currencies in order to avoid financial loss.
