The National President of the Peki Senior High School Old Students Association (PESCOSA), Mr David Kwame Aziago, on Monday, March 16, led a high-level delegation to pay a courtesy call on Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, Member of Parliament (MP) for South Dayi.
The visit provided an opportunity to formally introduce the leadership team to the MP and discuss key matters concerning the association and Peki Senior High School.
The leaders were recently inducted into the PESCOSA’s National Executive Committee (NEC), held at the GNAT Hall in Nungua, Accra.
Central to the discussions was the briefing on preparations for the shool’s forthcoming 70th Anniversary Celebration in 2027.
The delegation also highlighted several infrastructure needs affecting the school, including the completion of the dining hall. Construction of new boys’ and girls’ dormitories, additional classroom blocks, an ICT laboratory, and the acquisition of a bus and pickup vehicle.
Mr Dafeamekpor, who is also the Majority Chief Whip of Ghana’s 9th Parliament, welcomed the delegation and expressed gratitude for their visit.
The MP pledged his commitment to support the institution, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to both the resolution of the school’s infrastructure challenges and the successful organisation of the 70th Anniversary Celebration.
Founded in 1957, Peki Senior High School is among the oldest second-cycle institutions in the Volta Region. Situated in the South Dayi District, the school has long served as a key feeder institution for universities across the country, especially the Peki College of Education.
The delegation included PESCOSA National Council Chairman Mr Fatherland Kyei, Peki Senior High School Board Chairman Dr Phanuel Wunu, Headmistress Madam Peace Goka, Assistant Head Administration Mr Emmanuel Tekpui, and PESCOSA National Publicity Secretary Mr Kim Elisa.
