The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) will soon commence training for 2000 new recruits at their various selection centres across the 16 regions of the country.
The 2000 are the first of four batches who will be given their appointment letters and prospectus on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
In a statement, it said the selected potential recruits for the first batch include 18 personnel who got injured during the El-Wak Stadium stampede last year and five others sponsored by the families of those who died in the stampede.
The statement directed all potential applicants who had curable medical issues at the medical stage to seek medical attention, as they would be invited again for a review at a later date at no cost.
The GAF further urged all remaining applicants to remain calm as it continues the selection for the remaining batches.
“The Military is pleased to indicate that it has a pool of young applicants who scored high marks during the aptitude test and will therefore make selection from the pool for subsequent recruitment exercises beyond this year,” it emphasised.
Meanwhile, it said the directive on facilitating recruitment for persons from Sikaman in the Ashanti Region who assisted the military during last year’s helicopter crash rescue operation is under consideration for the second batch of training.
It finally expressed its gratitude to all 16 Regional Administrations for their immense support that facilitated this year’s exercise.
