The Chief Executive of the Ghana EXIM Bank, Sylvester Adinam Mensah, has called on stakeholders within the agricultural value chain and the wider public to actively participate in the Agrotech Fair, which opened today, Tuesday, 17th March, and is scheduled to end on 19th March.
The three-day event is positioned as a strategic platform aimed at accelerating innovation and investment within Ghana’s agricultural sector, aligning with broader national efforts to modernise agribusiness and enhance productivity.
The fair is under the team “Transforming Agribusiness through local Innovation and Technology”
Addressing participants at the launch, Mr Mensah underscored the significance of the Fair in fostering collaboration among key actors across the value chain.
He noted that the initiative is designed to convene local manufacturers, technology developers, farmers, fishers, processors, exporters, investors, research institutions, and policymakers under a unified agenda of transformation.
According to him, the Fair will serve as a high-impact marketplace of ideas and opportunities, where stakeholders can engage in meaningful dialogue, explore emerging technologies, and forge partnerships capable of catalysing growth within the agrotech and agro-industrial space.
“It is intended to be a regular platform to promote AgroTech, innovation, strengthen agribusinesses and advance Ghana’s economic transformation through Agro processing, value addition and accelerated export,” he said when delivering his speech at the ceremony.
“Primarily, it serves as a pedestal to showcase practical domestic agriculture technology and solutions that can improve productivity across the agriculture value chain.”
He further emphasised that strengthening linkages between innovation and production remains critical to unlocking the full potential of Ghana’s agricultural economy, particularly in an era where technology-driven solutions are reshaping global food systems.
“Additionally, it creates a helpful medium to connect farmers, Agri businesses, innovators, investors and policymakers to shape ideas into profitable business partnerships,” he added.
The Agrotech Fair is expected to feature exhibitions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and networking engagements, all geared towards advancing sustainable agricultural practices and boosting value addition across the sector.
The event forms part of ongoing efforts to position Ghana as a competitive hub for agro-industrial development, while creating avenues for inclusive participation and long-term investment in agriculture.
President John Mahama was the special guest of honour for the ceremony.
