The Ghana World Cup Fundraising Committee has officially launched the Ghana World Cup Raffle at the Ministry of Finance headquarters in Accra, as part of efforts to rally national support for the Black Stars ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

The event brought together a host of dignitaries and celebrities, including musicians Akwaboah, Stonebwoy, and Shatta Wale, highlighting the unifying power of football across different sectors of society.

Chairman of the Fundraising Committee, Hon. Ampem Nyarko, described the initiative as a national call to action, urging all Ghanaians to contribute to the success of the Black Stars.

“This is for every Ghanaian. Each and every one has to contribute. Every ticket is a vote for Ghana — a vote for the Black Stars,” he stated.

He further expressed confidence in the team’s ability to make the nation proud on the global stage.

Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, also underscored the significance of the initiative, emphasizing football’s unique ability to unite people across political, generational, and social divides.

“It is only football that can bring two big musicians into one room, unite NPP and NDC, and bring together both young and old,” he said.

He added that beyond giving fans the opportunity to experience the World Cup, the raffle will contribute to long-term sports development in Ghana.

“This initiative goes beyond the chance to travel to the World Cup. Government has established a Sports Fund, and part of the proceeds will support sports development,” he noted.

The Ghana World Cup Raffle is designed to offer fans a chance to win travel packages to the tournament by dial *899# to enter the draw.
