Award-winning Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, has shared a candid reflection on the challenges he faced on his journey to success, revealing that rejection and ridicule played a major role in shaping his career.

Speaking during an X (formerly Twitter) Space organised by Node Eight, the Bhim Nation president opened up about the realities behind his rise in the music industry.

According to Stonebwoy, his path was far from easy, as he constantly faced doubt and mockery from others.

“I have faced rejection and ridicule all my life,” he said, adding that people often dismissed his abilities and ambitions.

The Nominate hitmaker explained that instead of allowing the negativity to break him, he used it as fuel to push harder and improve himself.

“People will laugh at your condition or play with what you think you have or what you believe you can do,” he stated.

“But it taught me to believe in myself and make sure that with every given opportunity, I came correct.”

Stonebwoy further disclosed that there were moments when opportunities slipped away despite his efforts, as decision-makers overlooked him.

“There have been several times your name goes into certain rooms and people will still choose otherwise. Realistically, they are not betting on you,” he noted.

He added that such situations are often meant to discourage individuals into giving up, but he remained determined to prove his doubters wrong.

“They are just putting you in a corner so that you can quit, but I keep proving them wrong,” he said.
