Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has stated that the ongoing United Nations high-level meeting on the resolution on slavery is among efforts designed to confront the legacy of the transatlantic slave trade, which he described as an enduring injustice with far-reaching consequences.

In his address during the session on Tuesday, March 24, Mr Ablakwa noted that the gathering provides a vital platform for global leaders to engage honestly with history and reflect on the deep scars left by centuries of human exploitation.

He stressed that the meeting is not merely symbolic but represents a deliberate effort to acknowledge past wrongs and advance the cause of justice.
