Firefighters from the Suhum Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service have contained an early‑morning fire involving a container at the Suhum Market.
According to a social media update posted by the service, in the early hours of Thursday, March 26, the Suhum Fire Station received an emergency alert about a blaze at the Suhum Market and immediately dispatched a six‑member crew to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a container at the market entrance engulfed in flames. The team brought the fire under control within minutes and fully extinguished it before it could spread further.
Preliminary findings suggest the fire was triggered by negligence during welding work, where hot metal was left in contact with wooden material inside the container.
No casualties were recorded in the incident, but the container sustained partial damage.
