A gory accident involving three vehicles on Palm Sunday morning has left several people injured at Tadieso, near the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Techiman Distance Learning Central junction on the Techiman-Kumasi road.
The crash, which occurred around 10:00 a.m. during a downpour, involved a Kia Picanto taxi cab with the registration number GS 3644-19, a Toyota Corolla saloon private with the registration number GT 4164-20, and a tipper truck with the registration number GS 1139-25, all heading in the Kumasi direction.
According to eyewitness accounts, the taxi was returning from the UEW learning centre after dropping off some students when the accident happened. The tipper truck was travelling from Techiman towards Kumasi, while the Toyota saloon was also en route to Kumasi at the time of the collision.
Although no deaths have been recorded, victims sustained varying degrees of injuries and were quickly rushed to the Techiman Holy Family Hospital for medical treatment.
Police officers have since returned to the scene to manage traffic and prevent further congestion along the busy stretch. Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The incident adds to growing concerns over road safety, particularly during adverse weather conditions, as drivers are urged to exercise caution to avoid similar occurrences.
