Firefighters from the Amasaman Fire Station responded to a commercial fire outbreak at Ofankor Muse in the early hours of Saturday, March 28, 2026.

According to a post shared on Facebook by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the blaze, which involved a local wood market, was reported at 02:04 am, prompting an immediate dispatch of firefighting crews who arrived within minutes.

The fire destroyed several wooden structures and stockpiles of wood, and partially damaged a maltese machine and a maize feed mill.

Despite the severity of the blaze, coordinated efforts by the firefighting teams prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining structures, saving additional property and wood products.

Appliances and personnel from multiple fire stations, including Amasaman, Anyaa, Madina, as well as the Ghana Armed Forces Fire Service, were deployed to control the situation.

The response was further supported by the police and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), ensuring that the fire was brought under control safely.

No casualties have been reported. Authorities have confirmed that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
