Samsung Ghana has announced an extension of its warranty coverage for refrigerators and washing machines, doubling the standard protection period for customers as part of efforts to enhance product reliability and consumer confidence.

The new policy, which took effect on April 1, 2026, increases the warranty period for both product categories from 12 months to 24 months. The company said the move is aimed at offering greater assurance to customers against manufacturing defects while reinforcing its commitment to quality.

In addition to the extended warranty, Samsung Ghana is maintaining a 10-year warranty on Digital Inverter Compressors in refrigerators and Digital Inverter Motors in washing machines, underscoring its focus on durability and long-term performance.

The company highlighted its Digital Inverter Technology as a key feature driving efficiency and longevity in its appliances. In refrigerators, the compressors are designed to automatically adjust power usage to reduce energy consumption and extend lifespan, while washing machines equipped with inverter motors are engineered to deliver quieter and more stable operation.

Speaking on the development, the Managing Director of Samsung Ghana, Dong Hyun Ko, said the decision reflects the company’s confidence in its products and its commitment to customer satisfaction.

“We are excited to introduce these enhanced warranty terms as part of our ongoing efforts to provide unparalleled value to our customers in Ghana. This extension reflects our confidence in the quality and reliability of our products, and we are committed to ensuring that our customers enjoy the best possible experience with Samsung appliances,” he stated.

The company indicated that the revised warranty terms apply to all Samsung refrigerators and washing machines purchased from April 1, 2026, onwards through its authorised retail outlets.

Industry analysts say the move could strengthen competition in Ghana’s home appliance market, where extended warranties are increasingly being used as a differentiating factor to attract and retain customers.
