Divine Mission Academy has been crowned champions of the 2026 edition of the Luv FM Primary Schools Quiz, winning the coveted prize for the second time in three years.

The Donaso-based school secured 54 points at the grand finale held at the GNAT Hall in Amakom, Kumasi, to condemn her closest contender, Mannah International School, to 48 points.

The victory caps off a dominant performance that also saw them produce the overall best contestant of the competition.

The judges, by unanimous decision, adjudged Yaw Ofosu Boakye, a contestant from Divine Mission Academy, the overall best performer.

“I feel happy. It was a tough contest, but God helped us today,” he said.

The victory of Divine Mission Academy highlights not only academic excellence but also adequate preparation and discipline. That’s according to a teacher of the school.

“We’ve sacrificed a lot of nights to train these kids to become super as they are at this moment. We equipped them with all that they needed. And if we’ve been glorified with this particular win, then I think we need to be happy. We’ve done well,” the teacher explained.

Manna International School, winners of the 2022 edition, finished second with 48 points, brushing off competition from Supreme Montessori School, who pulled 24 points in a contest that tested both knowledge and composure.

Though the school placed second, a contestant/pupil conceded the competitiveness of the contest.

“It was challenging. All the schools were very good, so we found it very hard to compete against them,” he said.

Despite the loss, a teacher of Manna International School expressed determination to return stronger in the next edition.

“One thing we love is competition. We are going back to the drawing board; we will sit down and plan to bounce back stronger. It’s a promise,” he assured.

The 2026 edition of the Luv FM Primary Schools Quiz initially began with 36 schools as contestants advanced through what proved to be a rigorous preliminary stage. Not only did participants demonstrate strong academic ability, but they also exhibited confidence as they battled through each stage of the competition. Each contest featured three schools, represented by two pupils, competing across three segments: a spelling bee, a general knowledge round, and a section focused on Ghanaian culture.

This year’s edition of the quiz was under the sponsorship of VitaMilk Ghana, whose sales and marketing coordinator, Frank Owusu Agyei, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting education.

“We always look at the basics and fundamentals. And giving kids one of the best beverages builds their minds from infancy till they grow up. So when there are events like this that we know we can champion and help to widen up the scope, we’ll always want to be on board.”

Other sponsors included Cowbell, Twisco, Wintiz Special Gari Mix, Amansie Rural Bank Plc, Bigoo, Verna Mineral Water, Orion Sirus Publications, Best Brain Publications, Bright Future Publications, Ultimate Fashion, Royal Mental Arithmetic System (Royalmas), and Eselali Empire.

With Divine Mission Academy crowned champions once again, the 2026 edition of the Luv FM Primary Schools Quiz leaves behind memorable performances and raises anticipation for an even more competitive contest next year.
