The management of Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) and Graphic Communications Group Ltd. (GCGL) have pledged to deepen collaboration for their mutual benefit.

The Managing Director of CBG, Dr Naomi Wolali Kwetey, said this when she paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of GCGL, Ato Afful, at the office in Accra yesterday.

She was accompanied by the Business Manager of CBG, Francis Anaman, and the Head of Micro Segment, Business and Inclusive Banking of the bank, Diana Boakye Asamoah.

Also present were Director, Finance, GCGL, Samuel Essel; Director, Marketing and Sales, Franklin Sowa, and the Director of Audit, Richard Owusu Afriyie.

Among the issues discussed was how they could work together to explore areas of mutual collaboration such as foreign exchange financing, banking services and brand collaboration.

The meeting formed part of broader stakeholder engagement strategy by the bank with key corporate clients to lay the groundwork for a strengthened partnership driven by shared commercial interests and long-term value creation.

Dr Kwetey stressed the bank’s readiness to align with institutions that contributed to national development.

She expressed optimism about the future of the collaboration between the two companies, adding that it was necessary to support the bank’s activities, while enhancing GCGL’s operational efficiency.

Dr Kwetey was presented with a signed copy of the Ghana Year Book 2026, a flagship publication of GCGL, as a symbol of goodwill and continued collaboration.

About Graphic

GCGL, the biggest state-owned media entity, highlighted its significant foreign exchange needs driven by the importation of raw materials, especially print.

The company currently undertakes substantial annual import transactions and is seeking competitive financing and forex solutions from partner banks.

It operates a system which allows partner banks to pay suppliers upfront while GCGL repaid in instalments during production cycles.

CBG, a wholly Ghanaian bank, seeks to pursue opportunities to expand its corporate banking portfolio, leveraging GCGL’s national reach and credibility to enhance brand visibility.

The discussion reinforced CBG’s intent to deliver tailored financial solutions and deepen its presence within the country’s corporate sector through strategic alliances.

Significance

Mr Afful said that GCGL was opened to partnerships that would allow banks such as CBG to explore avenues for their mutual benefit.

“Our doors remain open to you at all times.

We believe that strong, reliable banking partnerships are essential to sustaining production at GCGL.

We always welcome institutions that share our vision for growth and stability,” he said.
