The Ghana Police Service says it has robust security measures in place to ensure a safe, peaceful, and incident-free Easter festivities this year.
As part of its arrangements, it said police personnel have been deployed across all key locations across the country, especially within the Kwahu enclave, including event grounds, recreational centres, and known tourist sites, as well as other areas expected to experience high human and vehicular traffic.
It has augmented this with intensified patrols and operational teams along major routes leading to and from Kwahu to enhance security and ensure public safety.
“Motor traffic personnel have also been deployed to manage traffic and minimise congestion throughout the period,” it added.
Additionally, intelligence operations have been activated across the country to prevent and respond swiftly to any criminal activity, the police noted.
It used the occasion to urge the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with security personnel, and adhere to all safety guidelines.
It encouraged motorists to observe road traffic regulations, avoid excessive speeding, refrain from drunk driving and take directions from our officers to ensure safety on our roads.
The police further highlighted the need for personal safety, recommending that the public report any suspicious activity to the nearest Police officer or Police station.
“The Ghana Police Service wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable Easter and assures the public of its commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festivities,” it added.
