The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has halted it’s earlier announced price increment in sachet water.

The suspension of the price hike that was supposed to take effect on April 6, 2026, follows the intervention of the government.

In a statements, the Ministry of Trade and Agribusiness commended the Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association (GPMA) and the NASPAWAP for the decision.

“This decision reflects our commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring market stability.”

The Ministry, therefore, assured consumers that purchase sachet water at the current price will remain unchanged.

Meanwhile, the government will meet the stakeholders on April 8, 2026 to urgently address challenges facing the sector.

“The Ministry remains steadfast in working with all Trade Associations to resolve issues swiftly and maintain stability in the market.”

Last week, the producers of sachet water announced an intended price increment citing the global shortage of polymers and the sharp increase in their prices, resulting from the ongoing conflict in Iran, as the cause.
