Govt to Establish Farmer Services Centers in 50 Agric Districts

The government has announced it’s intention to establish farmer services centers across 50 agricultural districts in the country.

With over 4000 different agricultural machinery, these centers will provide agricultural services to farmers in Ghana.

In a Facebook post, the Minister for Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said President John Dramani Mahama cut sod for work to begin a few weeks ago at Afram Plains.

Among the machinery that would be available at these centers include 660 tractors, 200 tractor trailers, 200 mini tractors, 200 mini tractor trailers, ⁠200 mini tractor tillers, 200 mini tractor cultivators, 200 mini tractor ploughs and 200 mini tractor harrows.

Also available would be 200 mini tractor cutter bars, 200 mini tractor mowers 460 3-disc plough, ⁠300 4- disc ploughs, 330 16-disc harrows, ⁠100 1000kg mineral fertilizer spreaders, 100 4-row precision seed drills, 100 6-row precision seed drills and 100 32-row pneumatic seed drills.

 

The rest are ⁠300 800L Boom Sprayers, ⁠50 combine harvesters, 50 Maize Headers for combine harvester and 25 Soy Headers for combine harvester.
