Black Sherif has shared his experience in the music industry, saying his time in it has changed everything he once believed about it.
Before gaining full access to the space, the Ghanaian artiste admits he carried a very idealised perception of how it all worked, even describing it as “a fantasy world.”
“What I knew about what I thought the music industry was before I entered is so different from what I see now. Before I entered, I thought it was a fantasy world,” the Ghanaian artiste told Kafui Dey in a recent interview.
Having spent more time within the system, Black Sherif says his perspective has changed, with internal politics and division standing out as key features of how the industry operates behind the scenes.
Blacko added that he has made a clear decision to stay away from those tensions and the conversations that fuel them.
“A chunk of it is politics and division. Before my soul could even find the words to describe the effect of division, I was repelling it. I never want to be part of any of the division conversations,” he stated.
