The Member of Parliament, (MP) for the Salaga South Constituency, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has extended humanitarian support to fourteen (14) communities across the Kpembe, Salaga, Kulaw, and Kafaba wards following a devastating rainstorm.
The rainstorm, which struck on Monday, 23rd March 2026, caused extensive damage to homes, schools, and other public infrastructure, displacing several residents. The total cost of destruction is estimated to run into thousands of Ghana cedis.
The affected communities include Kpembe, Salaga, Sisipe, Nkwanta, Kunkaw, Sikape, Kijewu Battor, Kijewu Gonja, Kigbatito, Kiyange, Telkpa, Klor, Mataheko, and Adevokpe.
In response to the disaster, the MP donated 20 packets of roofing sheets and a sum of GHS 70,000.00, which has been distributed among the affected victims to support rebuilding efforts and ease their hardship.
On Wednesday, 8th April 2026, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, accompanied by the Constituency Chairman and officials from the Municipal NADMO office, visited Klor, Mataheko, and Nakpagali to formally present the relief items.
During the visit, the MP interacted with residents and reaffirmed her commitment to their welfare. She further announced her decision to fully sponsor the renovation of storm-damaged school buildings in Klor and Mataheko. According to her, a team will be deployed immediately to begin renovation works to ensure that pupils return to a safe and conducive learning environment when schools reopen.
Prior to the donation, the MP had directed the Constituency Chairman, his team, and Municipal NADMO officials to visit the affected communities on Tuesday, 24th March and Saturday, 28th March 2026. These visits were aimed at assessing the extent of damage and offering support to affected families.
Some victims, including Mr. Inusah Iddisa from Klor and Madam Yahaya Memunatu from Kigbatito, expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the MP’s swift intervention. They commended her for her compassion, personal engagement, and the support extended to their communities, while also pledging their continued support for her leadership.
