The Minister for Education, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu, has approved a nationwide sensitisation programme on the National Health Insurance Scheme, alongside an inter-regional quiz competition for Senior High Schools.
The decision follows a meeting between the Minister and a delegation from the National Health Insurance Authority led by its Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe.
The initiative, to be implemented in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service, will engage Senior High School students across all regions to deepen their understanding of the National Health Insurance Scheme and promote responsible health-seeking behaviour.
The programme, scheduled to run from May to November 2026, will involve selected schools nationwide. Students will be tested on key aspects of the Scheme as part of efforts to support Universal Health Coverage in the country.
