The Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in partnership with Italy’s National Cyber Security Competence Centre, Cyber 4.0, has convened a high-level stakeholder workshop in Accra to strengthen the implementation of Ghana’s National Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy (NCPS).
Discussions at the workshop were structured around three pillars: raising nationwide awareness of the NCPS, enhancing operational capacities of institutions, and advancing Ghana’s international engagement on cybersecurity.
Stakeholder groups held focused sessions to identify gaps, propose solutions, and define clear responsibilities for implementation.
Outcomes from the deliberations will be consolidated into a final report with measurable and actionable recommendations.
The report is expected to guide follow-up actions and shape the framework for cooperation between Ghana and Italy in executing the NCPS.
Speaking at the event, CSA Director General Divine Selease Agbeti said effective implementation of the NCPS requires coordinated effort across government, industry, and international partners.
He noted that the collaboration with Cyber 4.0 provides technical expertise and best practices to help Ghana build resilience against evolving cyber threats.
Minister Samuel Nartey George reaffirmed the government’s commitment to securing Ghana’s digital space as the country accelerates its digital transformation agenda.
He said a robust cybersecurity framework is essential to protect critical infrastructure, businesses, and citizens while fostering investor confidence in the digital economy.
Ambassador Laura Ranalli said Italy remains committed to supporting Ghana’s cybersecurity development through knowledge sharing, capacity building, and joint initiatives under the partnership with Cyber 4.0.
The workshop forms part of ongoing efforts by the CSA to translate the NCPS into concrete programs that improve national cyber resilience, protect digital assets, and align Ghana with global cybersecurity standards.
It brought together key government officials, international partners, and industry players to assess progress and chart practical steps for operationalising the NCPS.
It was graced by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Hon. Samuel Nartey George; the Ambassador of Italy to Ghana, H.E. Laura Ranalli; CSA Director General, Mr Divine Selease Agbeti; and Cyber 4.0 Director, Mr Matteo Lucchetti.
Also in attendance were members of Ghana’s Joint Cybersecurity Committee, representatives of the Industry Forum, and other relevant stakeholders from the public and private sectors.
