Fire outbreaks in two different areas have destroyed properties worth thousands of cedis, though No casualties were recorded.
The first incident happened in Accra, at the South Industrial Area, where the fire destroyed a top-floor warehouse that stored plastic disposable materials.
The second fire happened at Berekum, in the Bono Region, destroying the Berekum Cinema Hall.
Warehouse
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), on its social media handle, reported that the fire at the South Industrial Area was reported at 18:10 hours, prompting a swift response from personnel at the Industrial Area Fire Station, who arrived on the scene within six minutes.
It said additional support was deployed from the national headquarters, Accra City, Trade Fair, and Madina Fire Stations, while a Turn-Table Ladder from Tema was also dispatched to assist in the firefighting operation.
Through coordinated efforts, the fire was confined at 22:23 hours, brought under control at 23:28 hours, and fully extinguished at 23:47 hours.
The blaze partially destroyed plastic disposable materials stored in the warehouse and caused damage to the top floor of the building.
However, firefighters managed to salvage the ground floor, adjoining shops, and nearby structures, preventing the fire from spreading further.

The GNFS said the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, adding that investigations are underway.

Berekum Cinema Hall
The fire at the Berekum Cinema Hall caused extensive damage to property and vital documents.
The Ghana News Agency (GNA) gathered that the fire started around 1600 hours last Friday.
However, a swift response from personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) prevented it from spreading further.
Traders and bystanders were alarmed due to the cinema hall’s proximity to the Berekum branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank.
Assistant Divisional Officer Grade Three (ADO III) Ishaku Mohammed of the Berekum Municipal Fire Command, who led the firefighting team, told the GNA that the blaze had already intensified by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.
He said the team managed to contain the fire and prevented it from spreading to nearby shops and structures, and added that investigations were underway to determine the cause of the fire.
