The Ghana Swimming Association (GSA) has secured a total allocation of USD 25,000 from World Aquatics (WA) under the World Aquatics Support Programme 2026, in recognition of the national swimming governing body’s continued commitment to the growth and development of aquatic sports in Ghana.

The allocation is directed towards key athlete-focused and institutional development initiatives throughout the 2026 calendar year.

In effect, the money is expected to support the implementation of strategic programmes such as Water Polo Workshop for Coaches, Strengthening Federation Management Structures, Anti-Doping Education Programmes, participation in Continental Championships and participation in Regional Competitions.

In a press release, the GSA expressed its sincere appreciation to World Aquatics for the invaluable support and continued collaboration in advancing aquatic sports development in Ghana.

The Association, the release noted, remains committed to ensuring the effective and transparent utilisation of these resources while strengthening the overall ecosystem of aquatic sports in the country.
