The Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq., has launched the 2026 National Petroleum (NAPET) Ladies week celebration with a commitment to support women empowerment in the Authority.
Describing the launch as a “day of impact,” the CEO expressed confidence that the 2026 NAPET Ladies Week would be successful, noting that with the level of determination shown, the celebration would leave a lasting impact on the Authority and the wider energy sector.
Under the theme “Women Leading Change: Promoting Sustainability and Cultural Heritage,” the ceremony held on April 20 set the tone for a week-long celebration focused on the critical role of women in driving transformation within the petroleum and energy space.
Activities for the celebration from 20th to 24th April include a donation to the Maamobi General Hospital, a cooking contest between men and women, follow up on tree planting exercise, and climaxed with a karaoke night.
The launch of the NAPET WEEK celebration brought together management and staff of the Authority, alongside representatives from sister agencies including the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), the Ministry of Energy, the Petroleum Commission and the Ghana National Gas Company, in a strong show of collaboration and commitment to advancing the cause of women in the industry.
The acting Chairperson of the NAPET Ladies, Madam Evelyn Mensa, in her opening remarks, highlighted the importance of unity, mutual support and the growing influence of women, while also expressing appreciation to partners including Mamobi General Hospital.
The NPA’s Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Sedinam Afua Charity Mammara, highlighted the strength and capabilities of women, encouraging them to embrace excellence and take charge of their growth.
