Apply now: Ghana Scholarships Authority calls for local tertiary scholarship applications

The Ghana Scholarships Authority has officially opened applications for the Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for the 2026/2027 academic year, inviting qualified Ghanaian students who have gained admission into recognised local tertiary institutions to apply for financial support.

In an announcement issued on Monday, April 20, 2026, the Authority stated that the scheme is aimed at supporting needy but brilliant students to pursue higher education within the country. The application period runs from Monday, April 20, 2026, to Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

The Authority strongly encouraged prospective applicants to submit their applications within this window, warning that late submissions will not be considered.

Online application process

All applications must be completed online via the official Scholarship Portal at www.apply.scholarships.gov.gh. Applicants are required to complete the application form and upload all necessary supporting documents.

Following submission, shortlisted applicants will be invited to undertake an aptitude test and a selection interview as part of the assessment process.
