Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister has reaffirmed the government’s dedication to bringing the development of the nation to the next level and to create a better society for all.

He emphasised that the government remained focused on accelerating national development, amid criticisms from the opposition New Patriotic Party and political detractors, saying that government would not be distracted and be swayed from its development priorities.

Mr Akwaboa said this in an interview with the media at Peprah-Shed, a farming community in the Dormaa East District of the Bono Region after inspecting construction works on some ongoing projects in the area as part of his two-day Regional “Accounting to the People” series.

He said the government remained committed to deepening transparency and participatory governance as well as responsive leadership.

The Regional Minister also inspected construction works on the 33-kilometre Wamfie-Gambia Number Two road project, Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds at Abroso and Praprabebida communities.

He also inspected works on the three-unit classroom block, each at Nesesresu and Dormaa Akwamu communities and as well as office accommodation for the Dormaa East District Assembly at Wamfie.

Mr Akwaboa said the “Accounting to the People” series had exposed the deficit in physical infrastructure left behind by the previous administration, saying that the government had made significant progress in addressing it within a short period.

The Regional Minister said he was even surprised at the number of development projects initiated and completed by the government within one year, describing the level of development in the country now as unprecedented.

Madam Rachel Amma Owusuah, the Member of Parliament for Dormaa East, noted that the government was on course, delivering its Election 2024 campaign promises.

“Local communities have begun experiencing significant transformation,” she stated and assured residents of the government dedication to implement sound socio-economic interventions to better the quality of lives of the people.
