Lady Julia Osei Tutu has paid tribute to her royal spouse on the occasion of his 27th enstoolment anniversary.
Her Royal Highness led tributes to the King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as Asanteman converged at Dwabrem, Manhyia Palace, to celebrate 27 years of distinguished service and local and global impact.
Accompanied by an entourage, Lady Julia proceeded to the seat of His Majesty to pay homage, congratulate her husband, and extend goodwill on behalf of the royal household.
Her tribute reflected not only a wife’s admiration but also Asanteman’s collective gratitude for a reign defined by cultural preservation, development, and diplomacy.
Today’s Akwasidae
For the first time in 27 years, the 16th Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, marked his enstoolment anniversary on Akwasidae, the sacred festival of the Asante Kingdom.
This year, April 26 — the exact date His Majesty ascended the Golden Stool in 1999 — falls on the 3rd Akwasidae of 2026, creating a historic overlap between personal reign and ancestral tradition.
As a result, the Akwasidae Festival was observed with exceptional grandeur, with all paramountcies within Asanteman in attendance.
Nananom, government officials, diplomats, and thousands of Asanteman citizens have filled the palace forecourt to pay homage.
