FC AshantiGold ’04 have sealed an early return to top-flight football after clinching promotion to the Ghana Premier League with three matches remaining in the season.
The Obuasi-based side confirmed their qualification in emphatic fashion with a commanding 4–1 victory over Skyy FC at home, underlining their dominance in Zone Two of the competition. Their promotion was mathematically secured later after Ebusua Dwarfs suffered a 2–0 defeat away to Sefwi All Stars.
The results leave AshantiGold on 58 points, opening up an unassailable 11-point lead over second-placed Dwarfs, who remain on 47 points with only nine points left to play for. The margin confirms that no other team in the zone can catch up, sealing AshantiGold’s place in the 2026–27 top-flight season.
Their promotion marks a significant milestone for the club, which has shown consistency and attacking strength throughout the campaign, emerging as clear frontrunners well before the end of the season.
AshantiGold will represent Zone Two in the Premier League next season, as they seek to re-establish themselves among Ghana’s elite clubs. From Zone Three, Port City FC have also secured qualification in their debut campaign, completing a remarkable rise to the top tier.
The early qualification of both sides highlights a competitive lower-tier season, while setting the stage for a reshaped Premier League lineup in the upcoming campaign.
