For many people, beauty and cybersecurity belong to two completely different worlds. But for Ghanaian cybersecurity professional and entrepreneur Xornam Dzidzornu, the two industries are more connected than most people realise.
After spending nearly two decades building a successful career in cybersecurity in the United States, Xornam is now turning her attention to empowering women through her latest initiative, Glow Safe — a campaign designed to educate women on digital safety using beauty and skincare concepts they can easily relate to.
The initiative blends beauty, lifestyle and technology to simplify cybersecurity education, particularly for women navigating the digital space daily through social media, online shopping and digital communication.
Through relatable analogies such as comparing passwords to primers and skincare routines to digital hygiene, Xornam hopes to make online safety conversations easier, practical and accessible.
“Your love for genuine beauty products should also reflect in the links you click and the information you share online,” she explained.
Born to a Wala mother, Humu Yakubu, and a father from Asadame in the Volta Region, Stephen Ababioo Dzidzornu, Xornam’s story is one of resilience, discipline and ambition.
Raised in Abossey Okai and Ablekuma in Accra as the first of four children, she describes her upbringing as strict but formative.
Her educational journey took her from Mawuli School to Ho Polytechnic, where she studied Accounting while simultaneously hosting a radio show on Volta Premier FM for two years.
She later moved to the United States and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus, graduating with a 3.83 GPA.
Today, Xornam holds several globally recognised cybersecurity certifications including CISSP, CISA, CGRC, CEH, ISO IEC 27001 Senior Lead Auditor, PMP and CMMC CCP.
She is also the founder of Forever Solutions Group, a cybersecurity firm based in the United States, where she has spent the last 15 years building a successful career in one of the world’s most demanding industries.
Beyond her professional achievements, Xornam has mentored more than 50 people into cybersecurity careers, with a strong focus on supporting women who want to establish themselves in the tech space.
“I grew up knowing that beauty and discipline go hand in hand. My mother and Auntie Jemila taught me that. Cybersecurity just gave me a language for it,” she said.
Away from work, Xornam is a mother of three, a fitness enthusiast, vintage car lover and an avid traveller who has visited more than 100 cities around the world.
She is also passionate about home décor, enjoys exploring different cuisines and describes herself as both a fan of Shatta Wale and country music.
With Glow Safe, Xornam hopes to bridge the gap between technology and everyday life while encouraging women to embrace digital awareness without fear.
In a world increasingly driven by technology, she believes women must not only glow physically but also stay safe digitally.
