The fear is that students are using artificial intelligence to generate assignments, thereby bypassing learning and undermining academic integrity.
Yet this response, while understandable, is fundamentally misdirected. It assumes that the core problem is student misconduct rather than systemic misalignment. It assumes that artificial intelligence is a disruptive anomaly rather than an evolutionary stage in human cognition. Most importantly, it assumes that existing measurement and validation tools remain adequate in a transformed intellectual environment.
