President John Dramani Mahama is in Libreville to participate in the inaugural Libreville International Forum for Innovation and Development, a high-level gathering of political leaders, investors and technology experts.
The event, being held under the patronage of Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, President of Gabon, is themed “Political Stability, Business Climate, and Artificial Intelligence: Catalysts for Growth.”
The forum is expected to position Gabon as a regional hub for innovation and a key destination for international investment, as African leaders seek to leverage technology and governance reforms to accelerate economic growth.
It is also being used to inaugurate the newly constructed Omar Bongo Ondimba Congress Centre, which will serve as a venue for global dialogue and future international engagements.
Participants are expected to explore strategies to strengthen governance, improve business environments and harness artificial intelligence to drive sustainable development across the continent.
The summit will culminate in the adoption of the “Libreville Declaration”, a document expected to outline commitments by political leaders to enhance transparency, strengthen institutions and promote digital integration.
President Mahama’s participation underscores Ghana’s continued engagement in international platforms that seek to align policy with innovation and private sector development.
