The police have arrested six men for allegedly impersonating national security operatives and assaulting Chinese nationals at a manufacturing company in Agona Akwakwa near Mankrong Nkwanta.
According to police, the incident occurred on May 6, 2026, at about 12:00 p.m., six men in a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GW 8887-V stormed the premises of S.I Jun Manufacturing Company Limited dressed in military and Ghana Immigration Service uniforms.
Police said three of the suspects wore Ghana Immigration Service camouflage uniforms, one was in military attire, and the remaining two were in plain clothes.
The group allegedly claimed to be National Security Operatives while assaulting and harassing some Chinese nationals at the company.
Responding police officers found the vehicle parked at the scene, where three Chinese nationals — identified as Man Guan, Chin Min, and MA Kaixiang — had been handcuffed.
The six suspects were immediately arrested. They have been identified as: Agyemang Benjamin, 32; Mahama Iddrisu Dawuda Seidu, 48; Ofori Isaac, 35; Adom Bills, 32; Hayford Boaf, 47; Ato Mchenry, 48.
All six are currently in custody at the Agona Swedru District Police Headquarters, assisting with investigations.
The Police said the Military Police, the Ghana Immigration Service, and the National Security Secretariat have been contacted to verify the identities of the suspects and determine whether they have any official affiliation.
The case remains under investigation as authorities work to establish the motive behind the incident and whether other individuals were involved.
