Results generated by K’Bu Central Lab valid, reliable

The management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has given the assurance that all results generated by the hospital’s Central Laboratory are valid and reliable.

It said the Central Laboratory was among the most advanced and best-equipped laboratories in the country and within the West Africa sub-region.

It said the facility was also staffed by highly qualified professionals and served as a leading centre for the training of laboratory scientists for health facilities across the country.

Misleading reports

A statement issued in Accra yesterday by the hospital’s management, in response to what it described as misleading reports in sections of the media that sought to question the quality and reliability of laboratory results produced by the hospital’s Central Laboratory, said the Central Laboratory was also internationally accredited with ISO 15189:2022 to carry out its functions.

“Given its standards, accreditation and track record, management assures all and sundry that the results generated by the laboratory are valid and reliable.

Patients and the general public are once again assured of the integrity and reliability of services provided by the Central Laboratory,” it said.

The statement said the management of the hospital remained committed to strengthening the laboratory’s role in clinical care, diagnostics and teaching, while continuing to invest in enhancing its capacity to deliver accurate and timely services.
