Known over the years for staging some of Ghana’s most celebrated theatre productions, Roverman Productions is taking a bold musical turn this weekend with Feel The Brass Concert at Alliance Française on Saturday, May 16.
The concert promises to be an unforgettable night of live brass music, energetic performances and nonstop entertainment to define music culture of audiences for brass brand.
According to the organisers, the concert, which starts at 6:00pm, seeks to celebrate Ghana’s growing brass band movement while creating a bigger platform for alternative live music experiences.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Media Relations at Roverman Productions, Nii Saki Sackey, said although Roverman Productions is widely known for theatre, music had always been an important part of its productions.
He explained that GG Brass had become the heartbeat of their shows over the years, which informed the decision to give the musical energy its own major platform.
“This is not just another concert. It is a full live music experience. We want people to dance, connect and truly feel the power of live instrumentation and brass culture in Ghana,” he stated.
The concert will also feature performances by The Band Fra, Ghana Police Band, Elite Groovers, Grooveknot Band and Damfo Brass Band.
Music lovers will also be treated to performances by Susan Augustt, Yung Pabi and Teena Twumasi, while Kofi Darlington serves as host for the evening.
Over the years, Ghana’s brass band culture has gradually evolved from ceremonial and institutional settings into mainstream entertainment, with younger audiences embracing live instrumentation and alternative sounds.
Organisers believe Feel The Brass Concert will further spotlight Brass music.
“Brass music in Ghana is having a moment and we are proud to be part of the movement driving it forward. We want this concert to become a major platform for live music culture in Ghana,” he said.
