How an Evangelist was attacked by mob at Ashaiman for stealing manhood

On a seemingly ordinary Monday afternoon, April 1, 2024, Evangelist Timothy Tsikata found himself embroiled in a terrifying ordeal that nearly cost him his life.

Making his way from Ashaiman to Teshie, Tsikata stopped at a roadside stall to inquire about some jeans trousers on display. Little did he know that this innocent transaction would spiral into a nightmare.

After negotiating with the salesman and failing to agree on a price, Tsikata decided to leave empty-handed. But as he turned to go, chaos erupted. The salesman began accusing Tsikata of stealing his manhood, claiming it had mysteriously disappeared in his presence.

Before Tsikata could comprehend the situation, he found himself under attack. The salesman’s screams attracted a crowd, and soon, Tsikata was surrounded by people hurling accusations and blows. Stones rained down on him, and he was robbed of his belongings, including his phone, tablet, and other valuables.

In the midst of the chaos, two Good Samaritans intervened, pulling Tsikata away from the mob and escorting him to safety. Together, they made their way to the Ashaiman police station, where Tsikata was placed behind the counter for protection.

With the help of the police, Tsikata’s stolen items were recovered, and a thorough investigation was launched. To everyone’s surprise, including Tsikata’s, the salesman’s missing manhood was found intact upon inspection. It became evident that the accusation was nothing more than a ploy to incite violence and rob Tsikata.

In a swift turn of events, the salesman was arrested and charged with assault and spreading false alarms. Meanwhile, Tsikata was provided with medical attention and urged the public to remain vigilant against such scams.

Reflecting on his harrowing experience, Tsikata expressed gratitude to the Good Samaritans and the police for their intervention. He hopes that his story will serve as a cautionary tale and deter others from falling victim to similar false accusations and mob attacks.
