Ghanaian actor Kwaku Twumasi recently opened up about the unfortunate series of events that led to his dismissal from a prominent television station in an interview on Okukuseku Show.
The actor, known for his extensive work in the entertainment industry, recounted how his good intentions to help a young content creator were misinterpreted, leading to significant professional setbacks.
Twumasi shared that he initially planned to run a shop but opted to work at the television station when the opportunity arose. He then invited a hardworking young man he knew, who was struggling to find full-time employment, to collaborate on a business venture using his shop as an office space.
“I wanted to help because, as a young man, I knew it was difficult for him to get a job. He was a content creator, and I thought I could help him,” Twumasi explained.
However, things took a turn for the worse when the owner of the television station approached Twumasi with allegations that he was attempting to leverage the media house to start his own business. These accusations, which Twamasi vehemently denies, were apparently fueled by the young man he had tried to help.
“The owner of the TV station came to me and said all sorts of things. The story was narrated as if I was trying to take advantage of the media house to start my own business, but it never occurred to me that way,” Twumasi said. “Long and short, that’s what brought about my contract termination.”
In a gesture of forgiveness, Twumasi reached out to the young man who had betrayed him. “I called him myself to say I have forgiven him,” he added, reflecting his desire to move past the incident despite the significant personal and professional losses he endured.
