Kumawood star Kwadwo Nkansah, widely known as Lil Win, recently shared insights into his multifaceted talents and his journey in the entertainment industry. In an interview on Opemsuo Radio, monitored by News & Vibes, Lil Win reminisced about his days as a top DJ, before technological advancements revolutionized the music scene.
“I was the best DJ in the world until technology took over,” Lil Win stated, highlighting his prowess in using CDs. Despite being an illiterate who doesn’t understand English, he revealed how he used to jam to the songs of American rapper Lil Wayne, a testament to his love for music.
Lil Win also spoke about his diverse skills beyond DJing, claiming accolades in various fields. “I was the best player in Ghana, the highest-paid player in Ghana, and the best striker in Ghana. You can check my records on the internet. How to handle the ball, tuning speed—I have speed, turning left and right.”
However, he explained that his comedic persona has led to him not being taken seriously in sports. “They see me as a comedian, so they don’t take me seriously.”
The actor also recounted how he adopted the name Lil Win. It originated from his role as a DJ for witches in the movie ‘Menkoaa Mebusua,’ where he played a character that resonated with his love for music.
Lil Win, who has seamlessly transitioned from comedian and actor to producer, is set to premiere his latest movie, ‘A Country Called Ghana,’ in Kumasi on Saturday, May 25, 2024. The premiere promises to be a grand event, showcasing his dedication to promoting Ghana through the cinematic arts.
