Blakk Rasta has revealed that Kennedy Agyapong personally assured him that he would never campaign for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, making his recent endorsement a shocking betrayal.
On 3FM’s UrbanBlend show monitored by News & Vibes, Blakk Rasta expressed his disappointment and disillusionment with Agyapong’s decision to support Bawumia, despite their previous differences. Rasta recalled Agyapong’s explicit statement to him, saying, “Kennedy Agyapong told me he will never campaign for Bawumia.”
Blakk Rasta criticized Agyapong’s reversal, stating that it was a misguided move that could harm his political future. He also questioned what had changed to prompt Agyapong’s sudden support for Bawumia, expressing his dismay at the unexpected turn of events.
The Vice President is currently in the Ashanti Region on a campaign tour and Ken has been sighted campaigning with him.
Kennedy Agyapong, a seasoned politician and five-time Member of Parliament, has been a dedicated stalwart of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) since its inception in 1992.
In November 2023, he contested the NPP presidential primary but was defeated by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Agyapong’s long-held political aspiration has been to become the NPP’s flagbearer, but he has struggled to gain the backing of the party’s influential leaders. His grassroots campaign strategy, while commendable, failed to resonate with the majority of party members, hindering his progress. Despite this setback, Agyapong remains a significant figure within the NPP, with a rich history of contributions to the party’s growth and development.
