Indian police were called to retrieve a suspected corpse floating in a body of water, only to discover that the “dead” person was actually a man taking a nap to cool down.
The unusual scene unfolded when authorities responded to a call about a floating corpse in a local waterway. Upon arrival, they found a man drifting listlessly in the water, prompting them to launch a rescue mission.
However, as they pulled the “corpse” from the water, the “dead” man suddenly came to life, much to the astonishment of the police officers.
A video of the incident shows the police hauling the man out of the water, only for him to respond and even stretch his arms, leaving the officers in stitches.
As the story went viral on social media, many users couldn’t help but react with amusement and disbelief. “India is not for beginners!” commented one user. Another joked, “This police man should get a ticket for interrupting people taking naps underwater.”
Some users were impressed by the man’s creative approach to beating the heat. “Pants on full sun soak… looks insanely peaceful… I need to give this a try,” said one user. Another commented, “Who naps inside water? Interrupted a good nap.”
