Kasoa: 30-year-old man beaten to death by friends over disputed GHC200

In Kasoa Ofaakor, Awutu Senya East District, a 30-year-old man, Kwabena Mensah, was brutally lynched by his friends over a disputed GH₵200.

The altercation reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over a share of money collected from an estate developer who had flouted a traditional ban on noise making.

According to Kwabena’s brother, Edem Saglo, the group of friends, allegedly Asafo members of Kasoa Odupong Ofaako Stool, had earlier received GH₵7,000 from the developer as a fine. However, when Kwabena demanded his share of the additional GH₵200, a heated argument ensued, leading to a violent attack on him at a drinking spot around 11:00 pm on Sunday.
