Ghanaian Highlife legend, Ofori Amponsah, has voiced his strong support for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the ideal candidate to lead Ghana in the 2024 elections.
The “Emmanuela” singer made this statement during a ‘Boys Boys’ event in Accra, organised by Sammi Awuku, where he encouraged the youth to throw their support behind the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer.
Amponsah emphasised that the youth stand to lose out if Dr Bawumia does not secure the presidency.
He passionately urged them to vote in favour of the NPP candidate, saying, “Vote for Dr. Bawumia. If you don’t make him Ghana’s next President, you’ll be missing out on a lot. He represents the future.”
He expressed optimism about Bawumia’s chances of winning the election, stating that victory for the Vice President is very possible.
As the 2024 elections approach, a growing number of Ghanaian celebrities have publicly declared their support for both the NPP and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), making the political landscape increasingly vibrant.
Ghana will go to the polls in December 2024 for both presidential and parliamentary elections.
