Gospel singer Testimony Jaga has called on Nigerian musician Portable to apologise for his recent violent altercation with a pastor.
The incident occurred at Portable’s bar, where the singer livestreamed himself confronting the clergyman, accusing him of disrupting his business by driving away customers.
Portable, in his anger, physically assaulted the pastor, claiming he posed a threat to his establishment.
In response, Testimony Jaga took to Instagram to condemn Portable’s actions, urging him to issue a public apology within three days.
Jaga pointed out that regardless of the pastor’s actions, violence was not the solution, and Portable should have involved law enforcement if he believed there was a problem.
Jaga’s message was clear: the matter could have been handled legally, without resorting to physical aggression.
Testimony Jaga emphasised that the pastor is a husband and father, urging Portable to consider the impact his actions might have on the man’s family.
He firmly stated that an apology is necessary, not just for the pastor but also for his loved ones, who may have been affected by the incident.
Jaga further warned that failing to apologise could lead to Portable becoming an example of why such behaviour cannot be tolerated.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion, with many awaiting Portable’s response to the demand for an apology. Testimony Jaga’s call for accountability is a reminder that respect and peaceful resolutions should take precedence in such situations.
Meanwhile a pastor has come out to warn Portable concerning the assault. He added that something will befall him by the end of the year as a result of his action.
Portable has reacted to this and challenged the pastor to a fight.
“@portablebaeby I am giving you three days to apologize to that man.”
Jaga further expressed that if the pastor had indeed done something wrong, the proper course of action would have been to involve the authorities, rather than taking matters into his own hands. Jaga said:
“If Portable felt the pastor was doing something wrong, why not call the police or law enforcement to handle the situation? There was no need to slap him,”
“That man is someone’s father and husband. All I ask is for Portable to apologize—to the pastor and his family. If he doesn’t, he might find himself setting an example for why such behavior won’t be tolerated.”
