Broda Sammy's advice to single women in church

Broda Sammy, the Ghanaian gospel artist whose controversial remarks have sparked debate, recently shared his thoughts on why many single women in the church remain unattached.

During an episode of UTV’s United Showbiz, hosted by Empress Gifty Adorye, Broda Sammy highlighted what he sees as a key issue: the lack of fashion sense among female churchgoers.

He cited the example of his colleague, Diana Asamoah, to illustrate his point, noting how a change in fashion style can enhance one’s overall appearance and appeal.

In his candid assessment, Broda Sammy critiqued what he perceives as a prevalent trend among young women in church to opt for conservative, shapeless attire, such as tying their hair in scarves and wearing long dresses that do not accentuate their figures.

By contrast, he suggested that dressing in a more modern and alluring manner could make these women more attractive to potential suitors.

He emphasized the importance of projecting a youthful and stylish image, rather than one that he likened to looking like an “old woman.”

Broda Sammy’s candid commentary serves as a reminder of the evolving expectations and preferences in today’s dating landscape, underscoring the role that personal style can play in making a lasting impression.

“You’ll go to the church and see young women tie their hair in scarf. They wear long dresses that cover them up and make them look shapeless. How will a young man looking for a wife be attracted to something like that? If you dress like an old woman, the young men will keep picking wives from the clubs. The women in these clubs dress to attract,” he said.
