Ghanaian actor and movie producer Van Vicker recently opened up about how he met his wife, Adwoa, over 30 years ago.
The two first crossed paths in an unexpected encounter on public transport in 1994, and this chance meeting set the stage for a relationship that would blossom into a lasting marriage.
Van Vicker, who had just finished playing basketball with friends, recalled how an injury he sustained during the game led him to board a bus.
He was looking for a seat at the back, which was his preferred spot, but found it occupied by Adwoa.
Despite the circumstances, they began talking, marking the beginning of what would turn into a deep and lasting connection.
At the time, communication was limited to letters since mobile phones were not yet common.
Vicker fondly remembers how they exchanged letters regularly, each one bringing them closer despite the distance that occasionally separated them.
Over the years, this method of communication became the foundation of their relationship, allowing them to share their lives and grow together through written words.
Adwoa, who comes from a Ghanaian-Liberian background and has a Dutch father, has been by Van Vicker’s side through the highs and lows of life.
The couple, who started dating in their youth, were together for nearly a decade before they eventually tied the knot in 2003.
Their relationship, which began with a simple conversation on a bus, evolved into a partnership built on love, trust, and shared memories.
Van Vicker and Adwoa’s story is a testament to how the smallest of moments can lead to life-changing events. From a chance encounter on a bus, they went on to build a family and life together, with their marriage standing strong for over 20 years.
Their journey has become an inspiring tale of love and commitment, one that continues to capture the hearts of many.
