NPP’s Ahiagbah Exposes Rift Between Former and Current IGP

Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has disclosed that the working relationship between former Inspector General of Police (IGP)

Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and his successor, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, was far from smooth.

According to Ahiagbah, the two top officers had a “frosty” relationship, with Yohuno allegedly sidelined by Dampare during their time together.

The revelation has added a new dimension to discussions surrounding Yohuno’s recent appointment as IGP.

Ahiagbah’s remarks suggest that Dampare may not have been entirely supportive of Yohuno’s rise to the top, fueling speculation that their professional tension ran deep.

As Yohuno takes charge, Ahiagbah has called for unity within the police leadership.

He urged Dampare to step back and give Yohuno the necessary support to carry out his duties effectively, stressing that cooperation is key to ensuring stability within the security service.
