Former Member of Parliament and Minister of State, Sarah Adwoa Safo, is facing disciplinary action from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for breaching the party’s internal directive on media interactions.
An official statement from the party confirmed that Adwoa Safo’s recent comments on the Joy News Pulse Show contravened party guidelines that restrict members from discussing internal party affairs in the media.
The NPP issued the directive to prevent any statements that could cause division, unrest, or harm the party’s image.
In the statement, the party stressed that Adwoa Safo, as a former Deputy Majority Leader and Minister of State, should have adhered to these regulations, given her prominent role in the party.
The party also highlighted that her actions were in violation of Article 3(5) of the NPP constitution, which mandates that members must actively work to defend and uphold the reputation of the party.
This referral to the NPP’s National Disciplinary Committee signifies the seriousness of the breach and underscores the party’s commitment to maintaining unity and discipline within its ranks.
