Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine has strongly rejected corruption allegations made by Kwame Asare-Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, and has challenged the MP to provide proof of his claims. Ayine described A Plus’ accusations as completely false and dismissed them as misleading.
Dr. Ayine explained that A Plus’ allegations of involvement in the misappropriation of Sanitation Levy funds and other corruption charges were groundless.
He clarified that he was not part of the Finance Committee of Parliament when the sanitation levy was passed, making it impossible for him to influence its approval.
Addressing the accusation regarding campaign donations, Ayine pointed out that receiving contributions from individuals, such as businessmen who also provided vehicles for his campaign, is standard practice in politics and should not be seen as corruption.
He suggested that if accepting such donations were corrupt, then many other MPs, including A Plus himself, would be equally guilty.
Dr. Ayine concluded by challenging A Plus to either present evidence of his allegations at a press conference or submit them to the relevant authorities for investigation. The public now eagerly awaits A Plus’ next move regarding these claims.
